  • Responsibilities

    The Market Research Manager serves as the internal expert on end- use consumer behavior, attitudes and shopping as well as market trends within home improvement sector.  Also serves as central point of contact for all research activities, prioritizing requests based on critical business needs.  Conducts secondary research synthesis and leads primary research as needed.  In addition, the position is also responsible for competitive analysis and reporting.  This position has a high level of autonomy and is responsible for communicating directly with research vendors and internal business partners, recommending and selecting appropriate research methodologies based on business needs, and creating and delivering reports outs that are understandable to business partners and executives.  Must be able to clearly articulate research findings and resulting recommendations in both written and verbal presentations.

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain ongoing subject matter expertise on new home construction, residential remodeling, and commercial construction trends in the US
    • Collaborate with internal partners to understand research needs and proactively identify opportunities to support
    • Maintain market sizing and share data utilizing multiple sources
    • Serve as the voice of the customer by researching home improvement trends, conducting consumer surveys
    • Conduct proprietary quantitative and qualitative research to support business needs and serve as liaison between business leads and research vendor partners to deliver actionable insights
    • Conduct on going competitive intelligence activities
    • Provides support to strategy development and resource allocation decisions based on market trends and data
    • Maintains on going Trade Partner Satisfaction survey and recommends actions based on survey results
    • Manage custom and syndicated research on a day-to-day basis, including working with internal and external partners to understand and communicate available content sources
    • Recommend research design, develop research plans, and execute research projects, leveraging vendor relationships along with primary, secondary, and syndicated data sources
    • Report and present research findings that relate to business issues and provide actionable business recommendations
    • Provide proactive insights and reporting based on consumer and market trends, leveraging existing custom and syndicated research studies and market information
    • Manage research vendor partnerships

    Qualifications

    Minimum requirements:

    • 5+ years leading client side qualitative and quantitative research projects from conception to insight delivery
    • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Communications, Research, or similar degree, MBA preferred
    • Proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions
    • Strong presentation skills- able to summarize and synthesize data for executive audience
    • Data visualization/storytelling- able to make complex data simple to garner understanding at all levels of the organization
    • Data Analysis- able to draw conclusions from insights to drive actions
    • Flexibility- able to understand business priorities and allocate resources to the most critical
    • Organized- able to keep track of and manage multiple projects at once and deliver on-time, on-budget results
